“Killer On The Train”

Bruce Jensen presents the novel “Killer on the Train.”

sml Killer Final-

Hank Carson, a former LAPD detective, now a freelance writer with two assignments, he encounters a love interest and an unusual murder aboard the famous Wine Train.

Before retirement from the LAPD, Hank Carson spent much of his time in therapy sessions, dining out, visiting museums and plain old boredom.

Now he doesn’t miss being a homicide detective, but not a day goes by when he doesn’t think about it. The horrific side of human behavior had a strange attraction, and, while he’s glad that’s gone, he can’t help but reflect on the career he left behind.

In his nine years with the LAPD Hank dealt with crime corruption, mayhem and gang violence. On disability, he finally has the time to experience the wonders that this country has to offer. He’s become a freelance writer, traveling the country in his RV, along with his loyal companion, a seven-year-old black Lab named Molly.

As a freelance writer, Hank Carson covers popular tourist events for national magazines. While on assignment, he stumbles into a case revolving around the mysterious death of a prominent food critic. Throughout this novel, he faces several venues, a murder, many possible suspects, and extraordinary solutions.

The death and investigation are interspersed with moments of intrigue, suspense, depression, seduction, ecstasy, love and joy. A romantic encounter has an effect on him and his love interest . . .

This is the first of a series of novels where the retired detective, Hank Carson, gets involved with intriguing mysteries.

  1. I received this review of ‘Killer on the Train.’ Thank you Carol M.

“This murder mystery starts out energetically and keeps up the pace throughout. This is a book for mystery lovers who are searching for a character driven plot with lots of twists. Hank Carson is a believable protagonist who is struggling with his very human faults and desires. He just happens to be on the scenic wine train when an unlikable food and wine critic ends up dead…very dead. Similar to the British country house murder mysteries, the killer must be one of the guests…but which one of the 200+ train passengers? Complicating matters is Hank’s attraction to the lead investigator who has her own agenda while using Hank’s former lawman’s expertise to help solve the crime.”

I’m happy to share this, modestly, but the book was just released. Bruce
